Actor’s death comes just barely a week after his former manager Disha Salian committed suicide last Monday by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Mumbai.

Sushant Singh Rajput commited suicide at his home in Mumbai. The actor was 34. He debuted in Bollywood with Kai Po Che! and was last seen in Chhichhore. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home in Mumbai earlier this morning. Some of his friends were also at home when his body was discovered. The door to his room was broken and he was found hanging. Initial reports from the police say that he was suffering from depression for the past six months. His friends also told Aaj Tak that the reason behind this extreme step is depression. A suicide note has not been recovered yet.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s emotional post on Instagram has come under scanner after his tragic suicide. Three days ago, Sushant Singh Rajput had posted a picture of his mother with heartfelt poetry.

Noted Bollywood actor and television star Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide on Sunday. As per the preliminary investigation, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence.

His demise came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous personality from the Hindi film industry to pass away in the past two months, after Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo fell prey to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rajput’s domestic help had informed the police after spotting the actor hanging from the ceiling. A forensic team is collecting items from his room and the post-mortem would be conducted in Cooper and Bhabha Hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Police is at the spot.

Reacting to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, NCP leader Supriya Sule said, “shocked to hear about the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. He was among the finest actors. Huge Loss to the film Industry. My Heartfelt Condolences. May He Rest In Peace.”It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work as they have done so far. We request media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief,” Rajput’s publicist said in a statement.

Condolences poured in from all quarters for the highly-talented actor who won several awards for his roles in movies like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, PK and Kedarnath.

“I can’t believe this at all… it’s shocking… a beautiful actor and a good friend… it’s disheartening #RestInPeace my friend #SushantSinghRajput. Strength to the family and friends,” actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui said.
